How to camp in the Winter

Here are 15 winter camping tips that might help when out camping in the cold this year:

  1. Store clothes in dry bags to keep them dry and clean – and use dry bags to also isolate wet, dirty kit.
  2. A blanket used under an air bed will stop heat loss during the night
  3. Wear the right clothes during the day but don’t overdress at night – too many clothes restrict circulation and stops the sleeping bag insulation from doing its job

  2. Keep lots of fleece blankets close for extra warmth when sitting or sleeping
  3. Invest in a tent carpet – it is pure luxury for keeping tootsies warm.

  2. Wear bed socks and don’t be too proud to use a hot water bottle.

  2. Happiness is warm and dry feet – protect them throughout the day
  3. Make sure you have plenty of fuel for the stove – you’ll need it for hot drinks and food. And if you use gas remember butane is less efficient as temperatures fall so check if your stove can use propane/butane cartridges and propane cylinders.
