TOG Says …

Bun made us feel so welcome at The Outbuildings. Platter Queen Gina spent her first night in the Shepherd’s hut, minus a shepherd, but she was still warm, cosy and reluctant to leave the following morning. Julia’s room had the most amazing view and her 4 poster bed was perfect to snuggle up in. Read the TOG Blog here.

Our Restaurant

Dining at The Outbuildings is a friendly and relaxed culinary experience, where residents and non-residents are all welcome. We are delighted that The Outbuildings is featured in the 2015 edition of the Michelin guide to Great Britain & Ireland!

Francois sources the best possible local ingredients from his artisan butcher in Valley and, as he puts it, “treats them with all due care and attention together with a generous pinch of heartfelt passion”. His modern and light style of cooking, as his name would suggest, has its roots deep in the classical French repertoire! Charlie also works in the kitchen and is under the watchful eye of Francois.

The Restaurant is open for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner throughout the week, not forgetting our regular Supper Clubs – a great value set menu and usually a very jolly affair!

Menai Holiday Cottages

In addition to The Outbuildings, we also own and run Menai Holiday Cottages. Our much-loved little company was established 34 years ago and continues to offer a super collection of holiday cottages throughout North Wales to our guests, many of whom return year after year.

Our philosophy is simple – we only choose cottages that we would holiday in ourselves, we enjoy working with friendly people and offer an old fashioned service to our guests.

So whether you are looking for a coastal cottage on Anglesey, a mountain hideaway in Snowdonia or a rural retreat on the Llyn Peninsula – you have come to the right place.

Everyone in Menai Holiday Cottages lives in (and loves!) North Wales, so whether your are looking for advice on where to stay, booking activities, planning a celebration, or using our ‘book a cook’ service…all you have to do is ask.

Judith ‘Bun’ Matthews, Owner of Menai Holiday Cottages
