Nestled between Formby Point and the Ainsdale Sands Nature Reserve, the National Trust Undiscovered Formby walk is a perfect mix of beach walking and back to nature surroundings.

It’s a great family day out, encompassing woodland and sand dunes full of wildlife. And once on the beach you can see for miles and totally forget how close you are to a major city.

There are red squirrels in the dense pinewoods, if you walk quietly you might be lucky. Then it’s across the amazing sand dunes that protect the land from the sea before you reach the wide open expanse of Formby’s amazing beach.
