The Croft House at the Round House, Uvie Farm, Newtonmore, Scotland.
The facilities and spectacular scenery of the Cairngorms National Park await to be discovered from your own rural nook.
Roy Abel grew up on a small beef breeding farm and carved out his own from his grandfather’s land. The new farmhouse and guesthouse have been built on rocks at the highest point as a kind of beacon of hospitality. He now welcomes guests and volunteers from all over the world as companions on a variety of seasonal projects including English learning.
Volunteers are an integral part of Uvie Farm helping with all activities. They form a constantly moving community where everyone gets a chance to find a place and purpose. Each has the opportunity to learn while helping, contributing their own nature and skills. As a guest you might well be assisted by or just bump into one of them and get to know their culture and background.
