Over the last 2 years I have tried to embrace the cold water over the winter as part of the Her Spirit Winter Swim Challenge. The aim is to get into the cold water each week for a minimum of 10 minutes. Everyone needs a WHY?? As it gets us doing what we said we would and the motivation we all so need.

Why choose Vivida

So what’s my WHY? I am swimming 2 big open water swimming events this year with many members from Her Spirit. June is 5.25 miles across Lake Coniston and July is 11 miles!! And Lake Windermere. It’s not the distance that scares me but the cold and why I get into sub 5 degree water most weeks at this time of year.

The right kit is a necessity and a robe post swim is a must to keep warm after you get out. This is a time where your body needs to warm up and warm up quickly. It’s commonly called “Afterdrop”and its is common after swimming in cold water; you get out and feel fine, and then you start to get colder, sometimes growing faint, shivering violently and feeling unwell. I have defiantly got better and layers is the answer.

Why choose Vivida

I loved the Vivida All-Weather Changing Robe as its easy to get on over 2-5 layers haha dependant on how cold it is in the water and the air temperature. The quality is amazing and the outside shell very good, its this I think that sets it apart from the others on the market. And I love the bag that comes with it too.

If you are thinking of open water swimming I would definitely recommend this product.
