Barbados

The Barbados Commonwealth Walkway is a 10km route that connects 25 points of significance on this stunning island in the eastern Caribbean.

Barbados is rightly famous for its beaches, night life and rum; but it’s also a fantastic place to walk and this new walkway from the Outdoor Trust is a great place to start. You’ll explore stunning stretches of coastline, plus the main urban highlights in the capital city of Bridgetown.

The Barbados Commonwealth Walkway was drafted by the Trust in November 2016 following a brief visit as part of the 50th anniversary of Independence.

The Trust hope to return to Barbados to progress the Walkway, with the Government of Barbados and the local community in the near future.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
