A walk in Kirkby Lonsdale

This is a lovely walk at any time of the year – but especially so in Spring when the daffodils are in full bloom.

We’re starting our walk northwards through the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale, before heading eastwards, along Mitchelgate and on towards Biggins Road.

Turning left onto the footpath, we then head southwards, crossing the A65, skirting to the south west of High Biggins and continuing on, southwards towards Whittington.

Heading westwards, we make our way to the banks of the River Lune and, turning left, make our way northwards back towards Kirkby Lonsdale where we started.

The Royal Hotel in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale is the perfect place to stay if you’re planning to make this a mini-break.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
