Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing”.

Walk Details
Coed y Gopa is an ancient woodland with a fascinating past. Explore its secrets using the waymarked heritage and wildlife trails and enjoy magnificent views across the vale.

The limestone caves are one of the country’s largest winter hibernation sites for lesser horseshoe bats. Climb up to the Iron Age hillfort on the summit.

There’s a great 7.5 mile walk. A great place for a boxing day winter walk.
