I wanted to be up and about early to catch the open top bus – to me its the finest way to investigate a new town or city as I know you can hop on and off. But for me I like to do the full tour and remember then the places and then to revisit.

Driving to and from Weymouth I caught my self noticing the footpaths and the views and I wanted to be out there with my walking boots – boy I have I been bitten with the bug.

I walked in with my boots and crook, I was really pleased I had got there early as I wanted to sit on the back of the bus. It’s always interesting waiting as you get talking to fellow passengers. My Tilley hat fell to the floor and the chap next to me picked it up and remarked ‘what a lovely hat’ and I replied ‘it evens comes with instructions’ which tittled the queue! I then explained that the hat had a sun protection of 50+ as I over heat – well not over eat – well I suppose I do that too. Oh how the giggles went down the bus queue! I am not the quietest person and it was evident I like food.

I thoroughly enjoyed my bus ride to Portland bill. I saw the National sailing academy where the Olympics were held. I took so many photographs I didn’t notice that my Tilley hat had blown away. I thought never mind as someone else will enjoy the hat.. but wo and behold the bus driver said ‘is it this one?’ ‘Yes!’ I was so delighted!

On the bus journey yesterday I had noticed at Burton Bradstock the BB sign near The Hive cafe. On my return journey I called into The Seaside boarding house by the sea and was very impressed. There was a restaurant with rooms. I had lunch outside, lovely service. I must return.
