Canon C200
We use the Canon C200 for filming. We got one of these lenses and affixed on the camera. The Outdoor Guide’s online walking videos so the compactness and durability of it is of key importance. The walks are often up mountains or fells so there’s no chance to just nip back to the car if it starts to rain. The battery life isn’t too bad, however we have brought another battery for long walks and pieces to camera.

The new touchscreen and autofocus makes it much easier to film when out in the elements. There is also a dial that shows you how far out of focus you are on the subject which is really useful. It then goes green when in focus, which is great when outside and your subject is moving.
Overall, I love all the features this camera offers and look forward to getting back out filming the next adventure.
Canon M3
This hybrid feels like it should be an SLR with the interchangeable lens and full HD filming however it isn’t. The full manual control is great and I believe it can take up to over 80 lenses.

Canon Powershot G5 X
This compact camera has been used by Content Directer and walking enthusiast Holly. Holly is used to carrying a DSLR or the C200 but recently took this out and was very impressed with the quality of the photographs. She says ‘It was a treat to be walking up the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons in the snow and not have to worry about the lens cap! I just pulled it out of my coat when taking a photo and pushed it back in again once complete. No faff at all!’
