Challenge The Wild: Real Adventures for Young People
Get Outdoors. Grow Confidence. Build Character!
Challenge The Wild runs inspiring outdoor experiences for secondary schools, cadet groups and youth organisations. These adventures are designed to bring out the best in young people by taking them into nature and giving them space to grow.
In partnership with The Outdoor Guide, this is the next step in our Foundation goals; from helping children get the right kit for state primary schools, and now Challenge The Wild lead the next campaign to encourage leadership and team building.
School Adventure Trips · Why They Are Important
There’s something powerful about facing a challenge in the great outdoors. Young people come back from our events with stronger friendships, a better sense of themselves, and the kind of confidence that stays with them for life.
With a mix of problem-solving, teamwork, and fresh air, our Adventure Training provides young people with real-world skills they’ll carry into school, work, and beyond.
As Julia Bradbury puts it: ‘Getting outdoors isn’t just about feeling better. It’s about finding your feet, your voice and your confidence. The experience will help teenagers manage their mental health and develop team wellbeing.’

About Challenge The Wild
Challenge The Wild delivers outdoor experiences that bring people together, build resilience and improve wellbeing. Trusted by schools, public services, charities and private companies alike, our events are designed to be inclusive, supportive and transformational.
Over the years, they’ve taken thousands of people into the great outdoors and helped them reconnect with themselves, each other and the natural world. From police and NHS teams to corporate groups and military veterans, they’ve supported organisations across the UK to step outside, grow in confidence and come back stronger.
‘Some of the most powerful moments we’ve seen happen when people step outside their comfort zone and into nature. It’s a privilege to help young people and schools take that step. This partnership with The Outdoor Guide Foundation means we can open up even more opportunities for young people to learn, lead and thrive in the outdoors.’
