Gosport Voluntary Action, part of the CVS network and a registered charity, was successful in its bid to the Heritage (Lottery) Fund to run an exciting one-year historical walking project called Walking Past.
“Walking Past”
The project aims to:
- Inspire interest in Gosport’s built, coastal and natural heritage
- Engage local residents and visitors
- Create free, led walks at a wide range of heritage sites that appeal to a diverse range of people
- Motivate people to become involved in and support their heritage with a variety of volunteering opportunities
The project has engaged with many local people in the heritage, historical, access, tourism and nature sectors and involved many new and existing volunteers including those from our youth volunteering group Loud and Proud.
We will be creating 6 walks, which will be guided walks for a duration, and then available to download here as a self-guided walk.
