Rapanui was born from the founders’ deep connection to the Isle of Wight, where they grew up surrounded by water and nature. Living on an island, they saw firsthand the impact of pollution on the environment they loved. This sparked their commitment to sustainability early on, leading them to create products made from natural materials that could be remade when worn out.

In 2008, they started with just £200 and a shed, driven by the belief that good design could create a waste-free world. They quickly realized that to achieve this, they would need to invent new materials, technologies, and even factories of their own. Their mission was clear: to design products that are not only sustainable but also comfortable, stylish, and long-lasting.

Their approach is about more than just reducing waste—it’s about making the future exciting and positive. By focusing on clean energy, sustainable materials, and innovative design, Rapanui aims to create a better world without sacrificing the things people love about great products.

As the brand grew, so did their community. Rapanui has expanded its mission to share its technology with other brands to help clean up the industry, embodying the belief that real change happens when people work together. Today, Rapanui continues to move forward, committed to protecting what we love and building a more sustainable future.
