The Beehive on The Green is a small independent delicatessen and café located on the green in the beautiful Sussex village of East Dean.

Lee and Debbie took over the business in November 2012 and changed the name to reflect both their vision for the business and their historical links to the area. Beth and Sue have been fantastic additions to the team since this time. We are right opposite the pub and have a lovely view of the downs from our windows.

We serve tea, Illy coffee, cakes, scones, pastries and a variety of light lunches made using the ingredients we stock on our shelves and in our delicatessen counter.

  • Ideal pitstop for a walking holiday
  • Beautiful products
  • They have toilets!
  • Great homemade food!

We stock Italian and Spanish speciality foods, along with award winning locally made bread, local cheeses, beer from the local Beachy Head and Long Man Breweries, honey and preserves from East Sussex as well as a wide range of other items that we source both locally and from further afield.

Pop in and see us to be assured of a friendly welcome and delicious fresh food, as well as great ideas for gifts, hampers, or the perfect picnic for the beach or the downs.

Hello All!
“We are proud to feature as a Pitstop on this exciting new outdoor community!  We are located just off the A259 between Eastbourne and Friston and also just off Gilberts Drive if you are coming from or headed to Birling Gap. There is a free car park, the entrance to which is located on Gilberts Drive. We are on the green, directly opposite the Tiger Inn.”

TOG Says …

“We passed by when filming for Julia’s new ITV walking series and just had to pop in for a tea and almond croissant! We are so glad we did, very delish!”
