The Ramblers helps everyone, everywhere, enjoy walking and protects the places we all love to walk. We are the only charity dedicated to looking after paths and green spaces, leading walks, opening up new places to explore and encouraging everyone to get outside and discover how walking boosts your health and your happiness.
The leading voice on walking matters, nationally and near you; we protect, maintain and keep an expert eye on every single path you walk. Because of us, you can explore the wilds of the Scottish countryside, walk along the pioneering Wales Coast Path and enjoy England’s stunning national parks and trails.
Whether you’re just taking your first steps or are a seasoned walker, we can provide the expert advice and support you need to get the most out of the great outdoors. From our vast range of group walks to our expertly developed Ramblers Routes, we offer thousands of ways to start and keep you walking.
So if you love the great outdoors, enjoy the places you walk now and want to open up more of beautiful Britain, take an extra step and join us today. By becoming one of our members, joining our team of dedicated volunteers or simply supporting our work, together we can get everyone, everywhere walking.
Become a member
The Ramblers run hundreds of walks each week – from short urban strolls to long walks in the countryside. Why not join us?
You’re welcome to try out any of our walks for free. Once you’ve experienced the views, fun and exhilaration it’s just a case of becoming a member, the best way to support the work we do for walkers across Britain. You’ll be directly contributing to our work to protect and expand the places people walk and promote walking for health and pleasure.
As well as our group walks, Rambler membership means you’ll have access to our full library of Ramblers Routes, receive four issues of Walk magazine a year and a 15% discount from our partners Cotswold Outdoor.
Ways to get involved – volunteer with us
Without the 26,000 volunteers who give their time to the Ramblers we just wouldn’t exist. Volunteering with us is a great way to give something back to walking and offers the opportunity to meet new, like-minded people, learn new skills and further your walking knowledge.
We have lots of different volunteering opportunities to cater for a wide range of interests – from becoming a walk leader or helping to develop our library of Ramblers Routes to joining one of our 150 path maintenance teams or becoming a local campaigner, lobbying locally to help protect and expand the places we walk, as well as supporting our national campaigns.
“As the proud ex-president of this iconic institution we are thrilled to include them on The Outdoor Guide.”
