Walk Details
Starting in Whaley Bridge and climbing to Taxal Edge and across the moorland to the Goyt Valley. This is a long and challenging 12mile walk enjoying woodland, moorland and views into the distance of Derbyshire, Cheshire, Manchester and beyond.
Starting in the small town of Whaley Bridge you will walk up to the pretty hamlet of Taxal then through woodland paths, and rhododendron covered hillside to Fernilee Reservoir.
From there you will continue onwards to Errwood Reservoir surrounded by forested hills, ancient stone walls, woodland paths.
The walk provides a mix of waterside views, moorland views, and quiet woodland. On a clear day you can see Manchester to the North to the west of Cheshire and even towards Wales.
