This short stroll explores the rolling green hillside on the southern shore of Malham Tarn in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Set in a stunning Dales landscape of limestone pavements, hay meadows and rugged moorland, this walk near Malham Tarn has easy access with parking and is suitable for all the family.
At around 380 metres above sea-level, you’ll walk next to England’s highest lime-rich lake on gently undulating paths that are hugely enjoyable rather than difficult or challenging.
The views are great in all directions, and they get even better if you extend the walk down towards the local beauty spots of Malham Cove and Gordale Scar.

Dogs must be kept on leads at certain points of the year as this a farming area with plenty of roaming sheep.
