Walk Details

Starting in Ringinglow on the outskirts of Sheffield, this 5km walk along the Porter Brook epitomises why Sheffield is called ‘The Outdoor City’.

It highlights one of the many seams of green which run straight into the heart of the city, whilst simultaneously acting as a pathway out into the countryside.

The route follows a well sign-posted path, hugging the brook, so navigation isn’t too tricky. There is a café with toilets at the halfway point and at the end point in Endcliffe Park.

Once you’ve reached the park you can hang around for a while, or hop straight on the 181 bus to Ringinglow to retrieve your car.

Bus Service: Bus 181 from Ecclesall Road Opp Ecclesall Road/Rustlings Road, Hunters Bar to Ringinglow Road Opp Ringinglow Road/Sheephill Road, Ringinglow

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
