Walk Details

You don’t need to do a long hike to go on a spectacular coastal walk – just head to RSPB Bempton Cliffs and you’ll soon see what we mean! If you are in the mood for a longer walk – then you may want to take a look at our walk from Bempton to Flamborough Head. Otherwise read on!

Our walk today is wheelchair and pushchair friendly – meaning that all of the family can enjoy this one. You can even bring your dog – although they do need to be kept on the lead at all times.

The pathway from the car park leads down to the Grandstand viewing platform which offers wonderful views of the cliffs and sea birds. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars with you – if you don’t have any or forget yours, you can hire some from the visitor centre.

There are plenty of benches along the way to sit and take in the view across the North Sea – and you’ll want to take a moment to sit and watch the view and the abundant birdlife here. There is a plethora of seabirds to watch, including the Puffins (mid-April to mid-July), Gannets and Guillemots.

Access TOG Verdict:
Bempton Cliffs is a must for any nature lover and bird watcher – and it’s fantastic that it’s accessible! There are some other viewing platforms that you can also explore. If you are a wheelchair user, the tracks to the other platforms aren’t suitable for manual wheelchairs so you would need to have an all-terrain wheelchair or scooter – if you do it’s certainly worth it!
