Walk Details
If you want a short yet spectacular coastal walk head to RSPB Bempton Cliffs which can be found close to Flamborough Head and the seaside town of Bridlington, Yorkshire. This stile free walk starts at the RSPB visitor centre, where there is car parking and accessible loo facilities.
A flat pathway, ideal for manual wheelchair users, leads down to the Grandstand viewing platform where visitors can get a good view of the cliffs and the sea birds. The track to the other two viewing platforms are over rougher terrain and not ideal for a manual chair. But for those in an all-terrain wheelchair/scooter it is well worth the trek.
There are plenty of benches along the way to sit and take in the view across the North Sea. There is a plethora of seabirds to watch, including the Puffins (mid-April to mid-July), Gannets and Guillemots.
Binocular hire is available for the visitor centre and the three viewing platforms have each been made wheelchair accessible.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
