Tune in to ITV on Thursday 18th July 8.30pm-10pm
There’s 20 favourite national treasures but only 1 can take the prime spot. Julia Bradbury joins the legendary Sir Trevor McDonald in a countdown of 20 features that make Britain great. From the manmade wonders of an ancient time and the engineering feats of modern history, to the marvels of our island’s natural landscape along coast and country… which will be crowned as our nation’s all time favourite?
With each location, viewers will be given inside access to the landmarks and sights we all know and love, whilst we hear of fond memories and the passion shared by fans of our national treasures. As the countdown unfolds, stories and insights about each site are revealed, making things a little more intimate between the nation’s top 20 treasures and ourselves.
Sir Trevor McDonald finally gets up close and personal with Big Ben after years of hearing that “bong” whilst presenting the News at Ten, The Chase’s Jenny Ryan puts her thirst for knowledge down to the vortex of information that is the British Museum, Eamonn Holmes remembers the trips of his youth to the Giant’s Causeway, and comedian Hugh Dennis gives us the inside scoop that his father was Prebendary of St Paul’s Cathedral – who knew?!
The countdown follows the results of a new survey (conducted by YouGov), that was commissioned by ITV to find out what exactly the country’s most beloved sites, landscapes and icons are. Participants chose from a shortlist of iconic features, devised by organisations such as the National Trust and English Heritage amongst others.
Julia has travelled the length and breadth of the UK and some wonderful walks that she has been to in the past can be found below:
