Losehill House Hotel,in Edale, is privately owned by Paul Roden and family, and enjoys a wonderful scenic location in the middle of the “original” National Park-namely Derbyshire’s Peak District.
For starters it is only a ten minute drive from the beginning of the iconic Pennine Way, starting with Jacobs Ladder and the climb to Kinder Scout. This of course featured in Julia Bradbury’s Best Walks with a view for ITV.
As many will now know Julia’s walking career was launched by early childhood rambles with her father in the 70’s and 80’s in these parts; both she and the TOG team have been regular visitors ever since!
Using Losehill House as our base, TOG have filmed other beautiful walks in the area for the National Trust, including around the Derwent and Ladybower dams.
Most recently Julia and Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, joined about 600 hill walkers forming the Great Ridge Light Up on Mam Tor – a truly spectacular event to mark the start of National Camping and Caravanning Week (28th may to 3rd June 2018) and to support the British Mountaineering Council’s “Mend Our Mountains, Make One Million” appeal.
All in all, if you are visiting the Peak District Losehill House Hotel and Spa is a “win-win” choice – for the super views from dining room, bedrooms and even from the hot tub, and for the real hospitality offered by Paul and his team!
