Walk Details
Hello, I’m Sharon and I’m passionate about showing how everyone, no matter their ability, can enjoy the magic of time spent outdoors. As an Accessibility Ambassador for The Outdoor Guide I’m excited to share some of my favourite accessible walks with you all.

This route takes us along part of the South West Coast Path with this easy access short trail.
We’re starting at the Bedruthan Steps Carnewas National Trust Car Park ( PL27 7UW) where there are 6 disabled bays.

Starting from the car park make your way to the left through the gap – this is where the magic of this trail begins as you feel the wind greet you! Follow the gravel path to the left, taking you towards the magnificent coastline.

From here you can follow the pathway to the left until you get to the change of pathway surface – be sure to take a look back at the amazing view. Then, coming back partly on yourself, carry along the flat route. They have recently incorporated a rope rail and posts – both for your safety and to protect the precious habitats that surround you.

Continue along the path, you’ll go down a slight slope to your left. The view just keeps getting better and better with each step. There are some benches along this section, encouraging you to pause for a moment and soak it all in. This could be a great spot for a picnic if you’ve brought one with you.

Follow the pathway in a loop back up the slope on the other side – almost doubling back on yourself along the level, shale terrain back to the car park. You may even discover the two hidden cloud benches! This is a small route but it definitely has a big impact for all the senses.

Disabled toilets are at the car park, but please note that this is only open when the cafe is (from 10.30am). The Cafe has eight large tables inside with level flooring. When it’s busy though, it can be a little tricky to manoeuvre your wheelchair around. They have outside seating too with tables suitable for wheelchairs to move closer to, these can also be accessed through a gate at the side of the cafe. There is a National Trust shop which is also accessible with some more picnic benches next to it on the grass.

I just love this area and it always takes my breath away every time I come here. The view is just incredible – I hope you enjoy it too.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
