Natures Health Service!
There’s something quite magical about walking through the forest. It not only lifts your spirits but also gives your immune system a super boost at the same time. It’s all about the phytoncides – and you can find out more in our blog.
Why are we telling you all about forests now? This weekend marks the start of Forest Week. It’s an initiative that was started by the Forest Stewardship Council (the FSC) to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable forestry.
And why is sustainable forestry so important? It’s the key to our fight against climate change and the biodiversity crisis. And that’s important for the survival of all species – including our own!
Weekend Walks
It seems only fitting that this week, we send you off into the forest for a walk. And where better than the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive walk in the heart of the New Forest National Park? The walk is bordered by some magnificent giant redwoods – their trunks are wonderfully soft when you hug them (go on – give a tree a hug!).
We now know just how important a good night’s sleep is (thanks, Julia!), and just down the road from Rhinefield, you’ll find the lovely New Park Manor Hotel – it’s like a home from home with the added benefit of a creche if you’re taking your little ones with you!
This Sunday is #GetOutsideDay – an initiative started by our friends at Ordnance Survey to celebrate all that the great outdoors has to offer. No matter where you go – don’t forget to use the hashtag when sharing your photos on social media!
