Hello Toggers!

Sunshine strolls

Sunny strolls
Having just past the Spring Equinox, the sun is starting to offer some warmth once again. It’s amazing how our moods seem to lift the moment the sun starts to shine, especially after a long winter, giving us all a well needed boost of vitamin D (it is thought that 70% of the population is deficient in it) and enhances serotonin levels, our feel good hormones. A study in Sweden has suggested that a lack of sunlight can be as harmful to your health as smoking. The recommended daily dose will vary according to your skin type and the UV index – and can range from 5 to 30 minutes. Enjoy the sunshine – but don’t over do it!

Blooming sunshine in Yorkshire

Sunshine strolls

It can easily be argued that daffodils are like floral sunshine on a spring day. Our walk this week takes us amongst a dazzling display of them in the North Yorkshire countryside – Farndale Daffodil Walk. It’s a gentle stroll alongside the river. But be quick – the daffodils will soon be out of season!
