Sussex Strolls
The clocks have gone back, the nights are really starting to draw in – winter is very firmly on her way. But first we have bonfire night coming up this weekend. Whilst it’s an occasion enjoyed all across the country – it’s fair to say that no one celebrates the day quite like they do in Sussex. And that’s where we’re headed this week.
Weekend Walks
This is the perfect time of year to witness a wildlife spectacle – the deer rut. It’s a clash of the titans where the males are showing off their prowess to win their pick of the does. It’s an impressive sight – so this weekend we’re off to Slindon Deer Park to see if we can see it for ourselves. If you’re a dog owner – make sure you keep you dogs on a lead around deer and other livestock for their safety and your own!
If there is one place that is synonymous with bonfire night – it’s the town of Lewes in East Sussex. Just on the outskirts of the town you’ll find The Grain Store – a beautiful self catering cottage retreat. With plenty of open space, surrounded by nature – this is a rural idyll that offers a sense of calm.
