Hello Toggers!

Walk Out!

Walk Out!

Did you know that May is National Walking Month? It’s a campaign that has been created by a great charity called Living Streets and is designed to get more people to get outside walking. It goes without saying that it’s something I wholeheartedly support (and not just for a month!).

This year the focus is on asking women to #WalkOut everyday in May for their health and wellbeing. As a togger, I don’t need to tell you the benefits of going for a walk – that those who go walking regularly report being happier, less anxious and have a stronger sense of community. Perhaps you have a neighbour or a friend who would benefit from joining you on a walk this May?

A stroll around Derwentwater

The Lake District is one of my most favourite places to go for a walk. This walk round the southern edge of Derwentwater is suitable for all abilities. If you’re staying in Keswick – you can jump on a boat to take you to the start, and get another from the end back home again afterwards.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay near Keswick – I recommend Castlerigg Hall. It’s an award winning camping and glamping site with spectacular views out across Derwentwater and the surrounding fells.

In celebration of National Walking Month, Living Streets are inviting you to join them on Friday 29th May for a mass walk out. Whether you join one organised by the Living Streets team, create your own group walk or just step outside by yourself – join in and discover the joy of a daily walk.
