Hello Toggers!

Julias spring starts here

Spring is in the air

I don’t know about where you are, but here spring is very much in the air. Daffodils, crocus and primroses offer bursts of colour in the flowerbeds and trees are slowly starting to come into blossom. Tomorrow marks the Spring Equinox, a day that marks an equal number of hours in the day time as there are of night. From here on, each day will see an increase in daylight.

In the traditional Celtic Wheel of the Year, it’s a time known as Ostara – where we emerge from the dark days of winter, leaving behind what no longer serves us as we take our first tentative steps into new beginnings with joy, light and purpose.

I read a wonderful description of this time of year, describing it as a big yawn, a full body stretch and the wiggling of toes as the world awakens, ready to embrace the promise and possibility of the year ahead. I think that perfectly sums up this time of year.

National Trust Colby Woodland Walk

A walk with something for everyone

This week we’re headed to Pembrokeshire for our walk. The National Trust’s Colby Woodland truly offers something for everyone. At just over 3.5km in length, it’s a walk that packs in hidden glades, secret gardens, beautiful woodland, wildflower meadows and a beach! What’s not to love about that?
