Walk Details
This is a great walk that takes you along the shoreline of Dublin Bay from the tranquility of Sandycove Beach through to the vibrant Dublin Docklands.
Sandycove is a popular seaside resort south of Dublin. Take a moment to listen to the waves gently lapping along the shore as you inhale deeply, taking in a good lung full of the sea air before we head off on our walk.
Our path meanders along the coastline offering views out across Dún Laoghaire Harbour, a hub of maritime activity with a rich history. As we continue on we go past the enticing Seapoint Beach, accompanied by the sound of the gulls and the soothing lapping of the waves. From here we head into the serenity of Blackrock Park as we bathe in the peace of this beautiful green space.
Continuing onwards along the coast we come to Sandymount Beach offering sweeping views of the bay and the iconic Poolbeg Lighthouse. The path takes us on through Seán Moore Park and Ringsend Park, offering more pockets of green on our adventure into Dublin.
The walk concludes in the Dublin Docklands – modern architecture, vibrant and bustling city life alongside the peaceful River Liffey offer a contrast to the landscapes you’ve enjoyed on the way here.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
