A Different Kind of Travel
Tiny Gatherings isn’t about filling an itinerary with things to do; it’s about creating space to just be. Whether it’s soaking in the stillness of a misty morning, sharing a meal by the fire, or letting kids roam free without a schedule these moments are what make a trip unforgettable. My retreats are designed to give families, couples, and friends the time and space to truly connect, away from the noise of everyday life.
At the core of what I do is a belief in slow, intentional travel. I seek out places with a soul, places that inspire curiosity and offer a break from the usual. Every location I choose has been carefully considered whether it’s a hidden coastal retreat, an off-grid woodland escape, or a converted farmstead with history woven into its walls.
But it’s not just about the locations it’s about how they make people feel. I strive to create experiences that strip away the pressures of daily life and invite people to reconnect, recharge, and embrace the beauty of simplicity. It’s about slowing down, tuning into nature, and rediscovering the joy of being present in the moment.
About Me
I’m the heart and soul behind Tiny Gatherings a space where adventure, nature, and connection come together in a way that feels effortless, welcoming, and real. Travel, wild landscapes, and meaningful experiences have always shaped who I am. Whether it’s off-grid cabins, coastal escapes, or deep forest hideaways, I’ve spent years curating and crafting my own experiences that bring people closer to the world around them and to each other.
From a young age, I found a deep love for the outdoors. My first overseas trip to Malta ignited something in me the culture, the landscapes, the way people gathered around food and stories it all left a lasting impact. That passion never faded. Over time, my work naturally gravitated toward experiences that celebrate connection, from intimate retreats to immersive outdoor adventures. Tiny Gatherings was born from a belief that travel should be about more than just visiting new places; it should be about feeling at home in them.
Bringing Accessibility to the Forefront
While I’ve always been driven to create meaningful escapes, including those adult only adventures in Cornwall, Norfolk the Highlands and beyond a personal motivation has shaped my newest offering the Family Escape. My best friend, who is paralysed from the waist down, shares my love for the outdoors. But too often, accessible options are an afterthought. I wanted to change that.
The Family Escape is built on the idea that absolutely everyone should be able to enjoy the magic of a UK staycation together. That means thoughtfully designed spaces that cater to different needs whether it’s wheelchair-friendly accommodation, quiet spaces for those with hidden disabilities, or flexible options that allow every member of the family to feel included. No one should feel like they have to sit things out while others explore, and no family should have to choose between accessibility and adventure.
I’ve taken the time to research, visit, and partner with locations that genuinely prioritise inclusivity, not just on paper but in real, tangible ways. From step-free access and adapted bathrooms to sensory-friendly spaces and outdoor activities designed for all, I want to remove barriers so that families can focus on what really matters making memories together.
Why I Do This
Travel has always been my way of seeing the world differently. I believe in the magic of those moments that make you pause the ones that remind you what life is all about. Whether it’s a sunrise over rolling hills, the crackle of a campfire under a star-lit sky, or the shared laughter of friends and family around a dinner table, these are the experiences that stay with you.
My passion for accessibility in travel is deeply personal. I’ve seen firsthand how frustrating it can be when places aren’t designed with everyone in mind. It’s disheartening to find the perfect spot, only to realise it’s not truly inclusive. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to ensure that no one has to feel like an afterthought when planning a trip. Everyone deserves the chance to explore, unwind, and make memories, regardless of ability.
This isn’t just about providing accessible accommodation it’s about reimagining travel as something that genuinely welcomes all. I work closely with venues, suppliers, and experience providers to create stays that are as seamless as they are inspiring. Whether it’s ensuring paths are easy to navigate, making activities adaptable, or offering quiet, sensory-friendly spaces, I take every detail into account to make sure no one is left behind.
The Future of Tiny Gatherings
As Tiny Gatherings grows, so does my vision. I’m constantly searching for new locations, refining experiences, and expanding the ways I can bring people together. My goal is to create a collection of retreats that aren’t just beautiful and unique, but also truly accessible, offering families and friends the chance to experience something special without limitations.
I also want to spark conversations and change perceptions about accessible travel. It shouldn’t be a niche consideration it should be the norm. By working with like-minded partners, sharing stories, and listening to the needs of my guests, I hope to contribute to a more inclusive travel industry where accessibility is no longer an afterthought.
More Than Just a Holiday
My goal is to create experiences that feel special, personal, and deeply restorative. I want people to arrive and instantly feel at ease, knowing that everything has been thoughtfully considered from the surroundings to the small details that make a stay seamless.
Tiny Gatherings is about sharing those places that make you pause, take a deep breath, and remember what truly matters. And with accessibility at the forefront for the Family Escape, I hope to offer something that isn’t just beautiful, but meaningful for everyone who steps through the door.
I believe in the power of travel to bring people closer not just to each other, but to the places they visit and the memories they create. If you’re looking for a different kind of escape one that’s inclusive, immersive, and unforgettable then I’d love to welcome you.
