We are delighted to be part of The Outdoor Guide family. Their ethos and motivation is kindred to our mutual communities.
Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has been in Thomas Noel’s family since 1760 and formed part of the adjoining Exton Park, seat of the Earls of Gainsborough..
Formerly a farmhouse, Barnsdale Lodge was converted by Thomas in 1989. The Hotel is positioned on the North shore of Rutland Water in the heart of the beautiful, unspoilt, county of Rutland, just a few minutes from the historic towns of Oakham, Oundle, Uppingham and Stamford.
Barnsdale Lodge is lovingly managed by Ed Burrows (Managing Director) and Paul Freeman (General Manager), outstanding stars of their trade. Thomas splits his time between Norfolk, Rutland and London where his interests have included a Club in Mayfair with Robin Birley and a directorship of Bride Hall Group.
Rutland Retreats is adjacent to Barnsdale Lodge Hotel and within easy walking distance, therefore guests can take advantage of the hotel’s on-site facilities including the hair and beauty salons, bar, lounge and restaurant, at any time of the day (advance booking is recommended).
