Walk Description
This is a great circular walk that takes in two woodlands as well as open green space in Tile Hill, starting from the front door of the Mosaic Family Hub. It’s worth noting that the two woodlands featured in this walk do get quite muddy so should only be explored with your welly boots on!
From the front door of Mosaic, we make our way down the path to Jardine Crescent. If you have a pushchair or wheelchair, please turn left here and continue until you rejoin our walk as it leaves Limbrick Woods.
For those on foot, we need to cross the road with care, turn left and then take a right, down an alleyway that brings us out on James Green Road. Here we turn left and walk towards what looks initially to be a dead end. As we get closer though we see an entrance into Limbrick Woods through some green metal railings. Inside the wood we’re turning right and following the path straight on, until it naturally takes us round to the left. It can be very muddy here – especially after heavy rain – so please watch your step (walking around the edges of the path can be easier). As we approach the far side of the wood, we turn left and head back up towards Jardine Crescent.
If you have a pushchair or wheelchair and want to explore Limbrick Wood – where our walk leaves the woods is your best place to go in as the entrance here doesn’t have any gates.
As we leave the woods, we carefully cross over the road and turn right before taking the first left down a small road that leads to the back of the shops. As the road curves round to the left, you’ll see a single story brown brick building on the right – we’re taking the footpath that leads behind here, through some more woodland before coming out onto Langley Croft. Walking to the end of the road we turn right and then take a left onto Job’s Lane.
At the end of Job’s Lane we turn left onto Broad Lane and continue straight on until we get to Jardine Crescent, passing Limbrick Wood Primary School and taking care when crossing roads. Here we turn left and then go right onto Ponderosa Playing Fields. Our walk follows the path that runs the length of Ponderosa – but if you have little ones who want to run around – they have a great open green space here to do just that!
At the far end of Ponderosa, we take the footpath through onto Dunhill Avenue and then take a right after the green on your right (still technically Dunhill Avenue) until we come out on Hawthorn Lane. Here we turn left and see Tile Hill Woods on our right.
If you have wheels with you, be that a pushchair or a wheelchair, we recommend following the path that runs alongside the woods. It’s grassy underfoot and is often used by children on their bikes. If you’re on foot, and have wellies (especially during wet weather) – we can head into the woods. Our route is taking in just a small part of the woods – but you can explore more if you wish. We go in through the first gate, slightly round to the right and then take a left and walk along the path that runs alongside the edge of the woods. There’s a clear path that we take to the left to cut across and through the trees. At a clear junction we turn left again and head straight on (weaving around some fallen and low lying trees) until we reach the edge of the woods. Here we can either jump or step across the ditch to join a wider path to the right or stay in the woods, turning right until we come to another gate that takes us out on the lefthand side further down.
When we reach the end of the woods, we turn left and join Roosevelt Drive. We walk straight along here to the end of the road where we take a left onto Bushbery Avenue. Walking up to the end of the road we find ourselves back on Jardine Crescent. Crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing, we can either go right, past the library and then left up to the front door of Mosaic or left and then right, across the Jardine Crescent Play Area (which has a great playground area) and then right into the car park for Mosaic.
The team at the Mosaic Family Hub are always on hand with a warm welcome, a hot drink if needed and there to help with any questions you might have. Feel free to pop in after your walk before continuing on with the rest of your day.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
