Route Overview
The north Devon coastline offers the backdrop to this walk that featured as part of Julia’s ITV series of Britain’s Best Walks.

Our walk starts and finishes in the picturesque harbour town of Lynmouth. We’re heading eastwards, alongside the banks of the East Lyn River. This is a beautiful walk under the tree green canopy above you.

Where the East Lyn River meets the Hoar Oak River you’ll find the National Trust property of Watersmeet. It’s a great place to pause for a pit stop in the café (Julia says it’s the perfect spot for a hard earned cream tea!)

From here we head Northwards, towards the coast. We climb upwards, skirting around Horner’s Neck Woods and on towards South Hill Common.

At Countisbury we make our way on to the South West Coast Path, heading westward back towards Lynmouth.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
