Walk details
In the northern foothills of the Cairngorms you’ll find the magnificent Scots pines of Anagach Woods – and that’s where our walk is today.

Surrounding the town of Grantown-on-Spey, Anagach Woods offers some of the finest low level walking in the Highlands. Throughout the woodland there are plenty of way marked trails you could choose from that range from 1 to 4 hours long – our walk takes you on a short section alongside the River Spey before we loop back to where we started.

Keep an eye out for capercaillie, crossbills and red squirrels. If you have time – we recommend a visit to the nearby RSPB osprey centre and nearby Loch Garten. And the whiskey distilleries for a wee dram.
