For good measure, there are rockpools on the beaches along the way with the remnants of shipwrecks linked to tales of smugglers, once prevalent in these parts. Well it wouldn’t be Cornwall without smugglers, would it?
This is a lovely walk any time. But in the autumn, it is particularly good for spotting migrant birds. Check out the hedges for finches and warblers, while offshore you will see terns and skuas and – if you are lucky – even the Sooty.
This walk ends with a stroll through the picturesque village of Polperro to Crumplehorn where – very conveniently – you can catch a bus back to Looe.
