Walk Details
The mast at Tolsford Hill stands on the highest ground in the vicinity – 180 metres above sea level! The station
is no longer staffed (fully automatic), and is used for cross channel telecommunications.
Leave Sibton Park, turn right to enter Lyminge, go downhill and turn right into Church Road soon afterwards. At the Coach and Horses junction turn left passing St Ethelberga’s Well on the left then take the second on the right into Rectory Lane.
At the end of the lane keep to the right through the Rectory garden and cross a stile. Keep straight ahead close to a pronounced bank on the right. Cross a stile into a paddock then through a gate, crossing the road (Broad Street House) to another gate into the golf course. Turn immediately right and follow a succession of waymarkers bearing gradually left keeping a staggered hedge on your right to safely cross the golf course. The mast at Tolsford Hill will be dominant on the horizon …
