This collection of Sheffield walks with Julia Bradbury have been created in collaboration with Sheffield City Council and The Outdoor Guide to highlight what makes it The Outdoor City.
All of these routes are accessible by public transport. They feature some delicious places to eat, comfortable places to stay and other nearby attractions.
Sheffield has the largest percentage of green space of any city in the UK, thanks to the council’s tireless efforts to maintain and improve them. These five walks feature everything from the city’s regenerated industrial heartland, to pathways out of the hustle and bustle into the Peak District.
There are a number of these walks that are suitable for wheelchair users too, so no one has to miss out on the great outdoors.
Sheffield is where Julia grew up and learnt to love walking. She used to spend weekends out in the Peak District with her Dad, just a stone’s throw away from the city limits. You can watch all the walks on our Youtube channel.
Don’t forget to share your #SheffieldWalks with us on social media. We are active on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and would love to see where you’ve been walking. You can also email us using our contact form.
We hope you are as inspired by The Outdoor City as Julia and we were – happy walking!
