Walk Details
Blencathra is one of the most famous and dramatic looking mountains in the Lake District. Local legend has it that King Arthur and his knights are asleep inside, ready to go into battle should England come under threat from invading forces. When you’re visiting the Lake District it’s one of Wainwright’s beloved fells that you want to climb. There are many routes that take you up to the summit, but this is the only one that is stile free.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
