Walk Details

For some, the prospect of a walk in the Yorkshire Dales may seem intimidating with the prospect of walking up hill and down dale – but that doesn’t always have to be the case as this walk proves.

This is an easy circular route on unmade tracks and quiet country roads. The terrain is generally flat, but it can get muddy in some areas so make sure you’re wearing good boots or wellies – especially after any rain.

It’s a circular walk that begins at the Malham Tarn Office, grid ref: SD886674. Whilst our walk takes you on a clockwise loop – you can go either way.

Access TOG’s Verdict:
This is a great walk where you do need an all terrain wheelchair to complete it. If you don’t already have one – the National Trust Estate Office has one available to hire. It feels so exhilarating to be out and about in an area of the Yorkshire Dales that would otherwise have been inaccessible for wheelchair users.

The Tramper is available to borrow Mondays – Fridays between 10am – 2pm, you will need to book it in advance by calling us on 01729 830416.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
