Mud, mud, glorious mud!
At this time of year walks invariably require a pair of wellies as paths can get really muddy. Whilst this can deter some from getting out on a walk – it shouldn’t. Embrace the mud as walking through it has been proven to be great for our health. There’s a soil microbe called Mycobacterium vaccae which not only acts as an antidepressant, but studies have shown that exposure to it can boost our immune system and support gut health. So go on – be a kid again and jump in the next muddy puddle you see. It’s doing you some good!
Holkham Hall
With half term coming up, this week we’re doing a short walk that all the family can enjoy around the deer park at Holkham Hall in Norfolk. It’s a lovely circular walk that you can do in either direction. If you have your dog with you – please ensure they are kept on a lead around any deer.
