Campaign for National Parks tells us why you should take part in this year’s National Parks Week (22-29 July).

Every year over 100 million of us visit England and Wales’ fantastic National Parks each year, and for many of us walking their spectacular peaks, valleys and coasts are just one of the ways we enjoy these amazing and diverse landscapes. But why should you get involved this National Parks Week?

  1. National Parks were created for YOU! From the oldest (the Peak District) to the youngest (the South Downs), our National Parks were designated for everyone to enjoy! The Parks offer everyone a chance to experience beauty and tranquillity regardless of background or ability.
  2. You might learn something new! Visiting a National Park is a brilliant opportunity to take a lesson in rural life, history or nature. Did you know, our National Parks contain some brilliant museums, exhibitions, woodlands and beaches?
  3. There are loads of great ways to get involved this week! There are events across the National Parks to suit your tastes. If you love nature, perhaps you want to go find red squirrels in the Yorkshire Dales? Or join a picnic in the Broads? There are so many ways to get involved but don’t forget to pack your camera…

… Campaign for National Park’s summer photo competition, sponsored by HF Holidays, is a free and easy way to get involved and win some prizes.
