When you hear the phrase ‘we’re having a bbq’ your mind probably doesn’t immediately jump to Pizza, but at the National Camping and Caravanning Club Week earlier this June Andrew Dickens showed us how delicious they can be.
The first thing you’ll need is a bbq with a lid, this acts as the oven and keeps in all the heat for cooking your pizza. The second piece of kit you’ll need is a pizza stone, the third is a pizza slice – for placing the dough onto the pizza stone and taking it off.
As with any recipe the most important part is great ingredients, but these don’t need to break the bank. You can find frozen dough at most supermarkets; you could even stock up when it’s on offer and use it throughout the year.

With a few simple and affordable ingredients, you’ll be well on your way to enjoying a satisfying meal bursting with Caribbean-inspired flavors.
You can make the pizza sauce ahead of time using passata, olive oil, garlic paste, and dried oregano. For the cheese, fresh mozzarella from any supermarket works well. Toppings are up to you, just remember never to use raw meat on a pizza as it will not cook in time.
