Walk Details
Looking for a long-distance trail that takes you around an entire nation? Look no further as that’s exactly what this walk offers you. Raad ny Foillan (The Way of the Gull) rolls off the tongue as easily as the miles roll on underfoot. It’s the Isle of Man’s superb, signposted, long-distance footpath around the coastline of the island.
Because it’s a full circle around the coast – it’s up to you which direction you decide to do it in. Our route is starting in Douglas (again – you can pick where on the coast you want to start) and we take a counter-clockwise walk.
With the Isle of Man sitting equi-distance between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland – on clear days you can see all from this walk.
Along the 100-mile route you’ll get to enjoy the picturesque cliff footpaths, quiet sandy beaches, wooded glens and farmland – noticing that each section of this trail offers something different and special.
It’s a walk suitable for an active family holiday – that they dog can even enjoy too. There are some steep climbs in sections – especially in the south west – but you can take your time. There is no need to rush here.
This is an enchanting island that will capture your heart.
