Established in 1973 as the longest National Trail in the UK, the South West Coast Path (SWCP) runs for some 630 miles. Starting at Minehead in Somerset it explores dramatic landscapes, coves, towns and villages, waymarked all the way. It covers the coastline of Exmoor before following the North Devon coast and running around the whole coastline of Cornwall before continuing into South Devon and on to the Dorset coastline to end at Poole Harbour.
It’s a wonderful trail that can be explored in stages and embraces lonely stretches along with the bustle of seaside hotspots. Its length, unique charm and variety make it a popular place for walkers seeking stunning coastal scenery. Along the way, the route embraces a number of National Nature Reserves and Heritage Coasts, five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, two World Heritage Sites, a UNESCO designated Biosphere reserve and a Geopark plus a National Park.
We hope you enjoy our selection of mouth-watering walks!
