Walk Details
This is a lovely 4 mile walk around the reservoir on a route that is accessible for wheelchair users – it’s a good track with a couple of steeper sections in places and a climb up from the waters edge.
We’re starting in the main car park and taking a clockwise walk. With this being a circular walk though – you can go either way round.
This is a walk that offers plenty of views – whether out across the reservoir itself or the surrounding fells.
Access TOG Verdict:
This is a great route that offers some wonderful views. To do the full route we’d recommend using a powered 4×4 wheelchair as there is some uneven ground that could be challenging in a manual chair. There’s a shorter alternative, linear route which follows a grass bank along the top of the reservoir that is more suitable for less robust wheelchairs.
Accessible toilets are available in the carpark. (RADAR)

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
