Friar’s Crag, Keswick
A wheel friendly walk encompassing Friar’s Crag viewpoint. It starts in the large car park just on the outskirts of Keswick. It then leads you along a flat path that follows the lake side edge, you can either choose to use the pavement or walk on the shingle.
It then delves off into Cockshot woods where there is an abundance of wildlife such a red squirrels and many bird species.
The meadow after this is often filled with grazing sheep and geese that are resting from a long day flying. The open waterside here is perfect for people watching as it creates a space for families to let the children run wild.
The last stretch of this walk brings you back through some woodland. At the very furthest edge there is a bench that looks out over the Lakeland fells and it one of the most stunning views in the whole of the Lake District.
