Are you ready for an Adventure?
When you think of an adventure, images of daring and bold escapades may come to mind. You wouldn’t be far wrong if you go by the dictionary definition – a risky undertaking, the ending of which is uncertain. Whilst that can certainly be the case in some instances – an adventure can also be something out of the norm for you. Pushing you to the edge of your comfort zone and perhaps a little beyond it. After all, it has been said that life begins at the edge of your comfort zone.
If you’re someone who’d like an adventure but without the uncertainty, or at least with someone else there to help support and guide you through – we might just be able to help. As we announced in our last newsletter – we’ve teamed up with Challenge The Wild for an extraordinary weekend of adventure in the Lake District this September all in aid of cancer charities – something that’s very close to our hearts. It’ll be an opportunity for those who have recovered from cancer, are living with cancer, or want to support someone who has experienced this illness. It’ll be a great weekend that will be exhilarating and uplifting – giving you the opportunity to really lean into the edge of your comfort zone and perhaps go just beyond it – all under the watchful eye of experienced instructors. We’ll be there as Team TOG – come join us!
Our recommendations of the week
A Scottish Adventure
If you’re looking for a long distance trail for your next adventure – consider giving the North Highland Way a go. There are in fact two routes to choose from, the coastal route and the one over the A’Mhoine path, which avoids a lot of road walking around Loch Eriboll.
Adventure within
Going deep within yourself can also be an adventure. Sharpham Trust in Devon have some beautiful retreats coming up that will enable you to reconnect with both the nature that is in and around you. From just day retreats to a week away – there’s something to suit everyone.
Walk Yourself Happy
On 14th September Julia’s latest book, Walk Yourself Happy, will be released. To celebrate, she is doing a tour up and down the country to talk about the book and the joys of walking! The tour starts on Monday 18th September in Lytham and is currently going through to Friday 20th October at the Dorchester Literary Festival.
Dancing Queen!
Are you a member of the Camping & Caravanning Club? If so – we hope you’ve already got your tickets for their Torchlight Festival of Camping later this month? Julia will again be the headliner on the Friday night with her DJ set – something you don’t want to miss!
