Walk Details
As a toddler, this is the place that Julia was brought for her first hill walk – Killiney Hill on the outskirts of Dublin.

This is a lovely, short walk that takes you up Killiney Hill, offering amazing views out across Dublin to the north and, on a clear day, the Wicklow Mountains to the south.

At the top of the hill you’ll find the Obelisk, a magnificent cone-shaped monument. It is one of Killiney Hill’s key sites and dates all the way back to 1742.

Our walk just takes you up Killiney Hill – but there are also well marked paths and routes to follow that also take in Dalkey Hill too.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
