Walk Details
No visit to The Lakes is complete without chance to have a shoreline walk.   This short one mile trek gets you down to the shoreline of Ullswater to spend some lazy time watching the life of the lake and taking in the stunning views.  Pooley Bridge can be found by the River Eamont at the northern end of Lake Ullswater.

It is a popular little village for tourists with a range of small shops and cafes. There are RADAR accessible toilets in Pooley Bridge.   Steamers run from Pooley Bridge, some of which are accessible for manual wheelchairs.

It is best to ring beforehand to check which steamers are sailing. The walk begins at the car park in Pooley Bridge and heads south on the wide footpaths to Dunmere.

The route passes through the gates and follows the path to the shoreline. There is a turning point at Gale Bay where the path changes into a rough track which leads down to a shingle beach. This is not suitable for manual chairs.
