Paradigm: The Barn

This former hay barn retains its original oak beams, with high ceilings in the lounge and dining area creating light and space.

Double glazed patio doors, open out to uninterrupted rolling fells which catch wondrous sunsets in summer and beautiful night skies in winter. On this level you also have a fully equipped modern kitchen and second bathroom with shower and bath.

Going down the polished slate staircase leads you to the master bedroom and a super kingsize sleigh bed for your comfort. To spoil you even more the ensuite includes: a spa bath with 18 jets to massage the stresses away and a power shower to invigorate.

From the lounge you can take the oak staircase up to the mezzanine to a cosy double room.

Paradigm: The House

The House at Paradigm is a beautiful character-filled hideaway without compromising the luxury of the modern touch.

A stunning kitchen surrounds the simple warmth of the AGA range. With prior notice, we can prepare meals and leave them ready for your return at the end of your day so you need not worry about dining. It’s the handy advantages that will most delight – the convenience of chilled Lakeland water and ice direct from the fridge dispenser.

The Honister Green Slate flagged floor leads through to the lounge and around the woodburner where the oak beams and sandstone add a sense of home. Here you can slump into the large, sumptuous sofas. Wander through the stone arch to the dining room; where as you dine; take in the view through the patio doors across the small valley towards the hamlet of Pardshaw.

As you go up the solid oak stairs to the two double rooms, you’ll find one ensuite with two single beds or super king size. The other super king room has its own bathroom with Victorian rolltop bath.

Photographing DORSET

by Mark Bauer
Dorset is home to some of the most beautiful photographic locations in the UK. On its 95-mile long Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, you will find the pinnacles of Old Harry Rocks and the famous arch of Durdle Door. Just inland is the 11th century Corfe Castle, the moored boats at Wareham harbour and the rolling hills and villages of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex.

Swanage based Mark Bauer – one of the UK’s leading landscape photographers, takes you on a tour of the classic Dorset locations and shares some of the area’s hidden photographic gems.

From the foreword by Tony Bates MBE, President of the Dorset Wildlife Trust:
“It is not surprising that there are many books that illustrate the beauty of Dorset, but this one is different. Mark Bauer has not only provided us with a superb range of photographs but we are provided with great detail on how to find the best viewpoints.”
