Rohan Men’s Element T
Made from a blend of sophisticated, technical fibres, our Element T offers a high-performance alternative to a basic cotton T-shirt.
The Dryknit™ fabric looks and feels like a top-quality cotton jersey but that’s where the similarity ends – its performance has more in common with a technical outdoor base layer than anything you might find in a High Street clothes shop.
Like a technical base layer, it wicks extremely efficiently. It’s also easy to wash – in the machine or by hand – and will comfortably dry overnight, even in cool or humid conditions. It’ll be ready to wear again the next morning, with no ironing required. It’s constructed using ‘Vortex’ spun yarns to provide long-term durability – it’ll never stretch, fade or lose its shape. It just keeps going – year after year.
It also offers very good (UPF40+)* level of protection from the harmful effects of UV radiation in conjunction with all the benefits of Airflow™ cooling. Rohan Men’s Escapers
The definitive lightweight summer stretch trousers, Escapers are ideal all year round, but excel in hotter climates.
Escapers are great general-purpose trousers. The tough, highly wind resistant, polyamide fabric features our high wicking Dynamic Moisture Control™. It’s durable yet lightweight, dries fast and packs down incredibly small. Minimum Layer Construction™ reduces weight and bulk, and improves comfort and breathability. And UPF 40+ protection shields you from the harmful effects of UV.
With a practical design and cut, they are ideally suited for active wear. The stretch fabric with articulation darts and specially shaped knees, allows full freedom of movement, for comfort in active use. Practical features include a zipped rear pocket, two front hand pockets, one with a handy tri-ring to secure keys, the other with a zipped security pocket.
Rohan Men’s Microgrid Stowaway Jacket
Our Microgrid Stowaway Jacket takes advantage of our advanced Microgrid fleece; this hardwearing polyester fleece is characterised by a ‘holey’ grid structure. This enables the fabric to trap air – lots of it. And it’s the secret to its surprisingly high levels of warmth.
These holes have other benefits too; they make the whole jacket lighter. They also make it much more packable and far more breathable. All for the same warmth as a much heavier, ordinary fleece.
Our Microgrid Stowaway Jacket is a functional – but casual looking – fleece jacket designed to maximize the properties of this remarkable material. It’s a simple, technical design which is perfect as a layering piece – both in the hills or around town.
It features two zipped hand pockets and a zipped chest pocket which doubles as a Packpocket™, into which, the whole jacket packs for convenient stowage.
Rohan Women’s Roamers
We believe our Roamers are the most comfortable and functional walking trousers around. And lots of our most active customers seem to agree. They’re our best-selling women’s trousers – by a country mile.
They’re made from a sophisticated blend of polyamide and stretchy elastane so, naturally, they’re tough, wind resistant and durable. But they’re also light, highly breathable and supremely comfortable.
They’ve got a nice, understated appearance too – they don’t look too ‘technical’. So, whilst they’ll go the distance on the toughest treks they don’t look or feel out of place when you’re bobbing around town or enjoying a meal in a posh country pub.
They feature two hand pockets and two security pockets – one hidden inside the right-hand pocket and one in the right leg seam. They’re not large but they’re perfect for keeping small valuables and travel documents safe, secure and close at hand.
Rohan Women’s Atlas Jacket
The Atlas Jacket shields you from heavy downpours and afternoon showers alike, and is now available in sharp new colours. Offering complete protection with a smart, everyday appearance , the Atlas is a technical outdoor garment that you can wear all the time.
The fabric includes advanced Barricade™ technology in a two-layer construction, combining a soft polyester face fabric with a comfortable mesh liner. Despite being 100% waterproof, the Atlas is phenomenally breathable, thanks to our Active Diffusion™ technology, which works even in challenging, humid conditions. And because the outer fabric carries our Durable Water Repellency™ finish, it won’t ‘wet out’ and impair breathability.
The Atlas Jacket features a full-protection mountain hood with our single-pull adjuster, and rolls away neatly into the collar of the jacket when it’s not required.

Rooms
Mortons House Hotel is an Elizabethan Manor House with 21 bedrooms. We have Double and Twin rooms. We have rooms to accommodate many preferences. Most of our rooms are located within the Manor House and have charm and characteristics that we have tried to keep.
Some of our rooms have stunning views across to Corfe Castle, some look over our terrace and fish pond and our Elizabethan Suite has a gorgeous Four Poster Bed. All double rooms have king-size beds and all rooms have tea & coffee making facilities and are en-suited.
Rose Hip Gypsy Caravan
Rose Hip Gypsy Caravan is an idyllic, romantic hideaway just for two; relax and cook by the firepit under the stars. Under the traditional bow top canvas there is a slide out double bed to climb into, bench seating and storage cupboards.
Steeped in history our gorgeous gypsy caravan takes glamping to the next level with modern additions, including 12volt lighting, USB charging and WiFi. Bedding and towels included and a modern shower room just a few yards away.
Royal Hotel – Afternoon Tea
Treat yourself to our traditional afternoon tea, every day between 2.00pm and 5pm. Featuring a selection of sandwiches and home baked sweet treats it’s the perfect reward following a morning in the great outdoors.

Kirkby Lonsdale is the perfect base for walking whatever the season. From challenging hikes to gentle strolls there’s something for everyone. But like many areas near the Lake District, this one tends to be overlooked by walkers who have their sights set on higher things. However the area around Kirkby is certainly pretty and usually a little quieter, Turner and Ruskin painted the scenery often as it is so attractive. Then after a day exploring the the great outdoors head back to The Royal Hotel for a sumptuous meal and relaxing overnight stay in one of our boutique bedrooms, followed by a fabulous breakfast the following morning.

Rustic Blackbird Box
Our rustic handcrafted blackbird boxes are the perfect addition to any garden.
Made from tanalised timber, our boxes are all weatherproof and can be attached to a fence or a tree using the metal brackets on the back.
Blackbirds prefer a large box with an open front but you may find that have a visit from a wren who also prefers this type of box.

Sailing is a sensational sport. It is about working with what you can feel and controlling the boat to suit.
Sailing can take you around the lake, around the country or the world. It is amazing to experience the technology that created our modern world.
Sailing can be one of the most accessible adventure sports because the joy of sailing is about controlling the vessel rather than propelling it, there is little or no distance to move your own body and it is possible to be an excellent sailor with any sensory impairment.
We offer a taste of sailing days, lake sailing weekends (with camping, hotels or sleeping onboard) and extended trips in Scotland and beyond.
